“Carl Dean, Husband of Dolly Parton Passed away March 3rd in Nashville at the age of 82. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending. He was survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie,”  the post stated.

It also included an emotional message from Parton herself.

“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years.”

The Jolene singer’s 60-year-long and loving married life might’ve come to an end, but for Parton, their love goes on and on.

Recently, one of Dolly’s close friends opened up to Closer Weekly about her bond with her husband.

“She spent a lot of time with Carl, especially near the end,” the friend told, “It was very difficult for her, but she didn’t want him to be afraid or feel alone. His eyes would still light up when Dolly entered the room.”

But that’s not just it! The friend further revealed that the 9 to 5 singer also made a vow to her husband on his deathbed. A vow to ‘see him again!’

“She promised Carl she’d see him again. Dolly wanted him to be at peace in his final moments,” said the friend.

A few days after Dean’s death, Parton honored him and his love with a new beautiful and emotional song, titled “If You Hadn’t Been There.”

She took to Instagram to announce the release with a nostalgic picture of the two in their younger years, and a heartfelt note that tells that love defies all.

She wrote,

“I fell in love with Carl Dean when I was 18 years old. We have spent 60 precious and meaningful years together. Like all great love stories, they never end. They live on in memory and song. He will always be the star of my life story,”

The legendary country singer’s words clearly show that Parton and Dean’s love story is truly endless. And we might expect to hear more of Parton’s songs dedicated to their sweet memories together.
