Sarah was born to her father, Abbas Jahansouzshahi, who’s from Iran, and her mother, Mahmonir Soroushazar, from Spain. Mahmonir was an interior designer by profession.
At ten years old, Sarah’s parents parted ways. She has two siblings; elder brother Cyrus and younger sister Samantha.

Sarah’s career in modeling began at the age of eight when her parents started registering her in beauty pageants. She went on to join the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in 1999 as a cheerleader to fuel her dream of becoming an actress.
Shahi started off as an extra in shows like “City Guys” and “Spin City.” But soon after meeting director Robert Altman, she moved to LA and bagged roles in TV shows like “Alias,” “Dawson’s Creek,” “Supernatural,” “Sleeper Cell,” and “Kennedy and Heidi.”
