But she was scouted by a talent agent. So she headed toward her North Star and became one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. Today, Angie is a megastar from the Golden Age of Hollywood, with an approximate net worth of $25 million as of 2023.

Angie Dickinson’s Family Background

Angie Dickinson was born as Angeline Brown in a small city called Kulm, North Dakota, to Fredericka Hehr and Leo Henry Brown.

She was lovingly called Angie by her parents, who are of German ancestry from Russia. The family later moved to Burbank, California, when Angeline was 10. She is the second of four sisters; one of her sisters was a policewoman at the Burbank Police Station.

Angie probably wanted to be a writer because her father worked as an editor, a local newspaper publisher, and a projectionist at the only theater. Her love for films sprouted from watching too many movies at her father’s workplace.

Her mother was initially not in favor of Angie’s career choice, but once she met Frank Sinatra, she knew her daughter was in good hands, Angie jokingly shares.

Angie was first married to a football player, Gene Dickinson, for eight years. She then married composer Burt Bacharach but sought a divorce in 1981. The couple had a visually impaired daughter who suffered from Asperger’s Syndrome and took her own life in 2007.
